Why Every Young Person Deserves a Chance to Succeed

Every young person has a dream. Some dream of becoming doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, engineers, farmers, artists, leaders, or skilled professionals. But having a dream is not always enough. Young people also need opportunities, support, and an environment where they can turn their dreams into reality.

Today, many young people are struggling because opportunities are not reaching them. Some grow up in poor rural communities where good schools, electricity, internet access, mentorship, skills training, and employment opportunities are limited. Others complete their education but remain unemployed because there are not enough jobs available.

This should not be the story of our young people.

Talent Should Not Depend on Where You Come From

A young person's future should not be determined by whether they were born in a city or a rural community. Talent exists everywhere. There are talented young people in villages and disadvantaged communities who only need someone to believe in them and give them an opportunity.

When young people are given access to education, vocational training, mentorship, funding, and employment opportunities, they can become productive members of society.

One Opportunity Can Change a Life

Sometimes, all a young person needs is one opportunity.

It could be a scholarship, a job, a skill-training programme, a small business grant, a mentor, or someone who simply says, "I believe in you." That one opportunity can give a young person the confidence to keep going.

We must therefore stop seeing youth empowerment as charity. It is an investment in the future.

We Must Create More Opportunities

Government, private organisations, communities, schools, and individuals all have a role to play. We need more practical skills programmes, accessible education, job opportunities, entrepreneurship support, mentorship, and platforms where young people can showcase their talents.

Young people should not only be told to "work hard." They should also be given a fair chance to succeed.

The Future Depends on Young People

When young people succeed, communities benefit. They create businesses, provide employment, support their families, solve problems, and contribute to national development.

But when young people are continuously ignored, frustration and hopelessness can grow.

Every young person deserves a chance—not because success should be handed to them, but because everyone deserves a fair opportunity to work for the future they dream of.

The faster we begin creating those opportunities, the better it will be for our communities and our country.

Give young people a chance. Invest in their dreams. Create opportunities. Because when young people succeed, society succeeds.
