Senator Ningi, wey no happy at all, tell im colleagues say na only one police dey follow am before but government don collect am because of the new security policy. Na Presidency talk say make dem collect police from VIPs, and Inspector General of Police come dey follow the order. Government say dem wan use those police do better security work for the country because wahala too much and police no dey plenty for ground.

But Ningi dey complain say the way dem dey do the thing no balance. E talk say people like am for Senate dey obey the new law but many big men, politicians, business people, and celebrities still dey waka with their police escort. E shout say, “Make dem do am for everybody. Make we see say President, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker, ministers, governors, business people, even children of politicians, all of dem no get police escort too.”

Ningi still talk say, “I don see singer and foreign business owner wey police dey follow dem, but dem don collect my own. Na cheat be this.” E talk say this thing dey make lawmakers feel unsafe because people dey always look their side and dem dey face plenty threat.

The senator beg Senate leaders make dem tell the Committee on Police Affairs to check whether this police withdrawal dey fair. E say e no good if National Assembly dey follow the rule but other big people for Nigeria still dey enjoy police security. This matter don cause talk for long time for Nigeria say police wey suppose do security work for everybody, dey follow private people waka instead.

Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, wey dey control the meeting, talk say the matter serious well well. E talk say Senate leaders don already discuss the issue and dem go talk with the people wey dey in charge. Barau tell the Senate Committee on Police Affairs make dem look into the matter and report back.

Barau talk say President Tinubu no talk make dem collect police to leave lawmakers for danger. Im say, “We dey take this matter serious.
