LOST SOUL
(Please do not judge just by seeing and let's try so much not encourage people with our words rather than damaging them)
Brothers and sisters in the hood, she's was my best friend so it's safe to say that I know much about her.
She was the sister I never had, my partner in crime and every other thing but temper.
She is very stubborn, stubborn in a good way though because no one dare tramples on her right, she fights for her right but people saw her as a trouble maker. Kamara is not someone to see a bully and allow him or her to go scot free but the world, even her mother misunderstood her.
I can clearly remember that Tuesday morning when we saw a boy two years older than us beating up kamara's younger sister: we rushed to the scene "what did she do and why are you beating her like she stole from you? Kamara queried
" Can you imagine that this girl passed here without greeting me" he answered
Jesus!! Is that why you are beating her, now that I came here did you greet me eh? When am done with you today, you will understand that no one messes with my blood. Long story short, the boy was covered with blood when the passerby were able to seperate them. The news went round the axis that Kamara wanted to kill a boy older than her for not greeting her.
Even kamara's mother was agitated "don't you know that you are a girl, do you want to kill me, why can't you behave like other girls".
Brothers and sisters in the hood, no one cared to know kamara's side of the story. The next day, another one happened, we were in a heated argument with one of our friends when the girl said " your father is not even man enough, he could not even impregnate that prostitute of your mother with a male child. I knew it was not going to end well so I ran out immediately to call for help, fortunately the girl was still breathing when we reached the scene to separate the fight and as usual, nobody cared to hear Kamara's side of the story.
The next day she visited me, she was in pain. Her parents punished her mercilessly.
"but I was only fighting for them" she complained bitterly. They did not understand you but I did, I assured her and life went on. I tried my best to always be there for her, no one truffles with me because they know that my best friend is Kamara. My parents were not really happy about my friendship with Kamara but they understood that our bond is stronger.
Brothers and sisters in the hood, something terrible happened. It was supposed to change Kamara for good but it broke her to uncountable pieces, it made mess with her mind, soul and body. It tampered with her sanity but I don't blame her.
So, we were playing Ludo in my place when someone announced to us that Kamara's sister was involved in a motor accident and she gave up on the spot. We ran like mad women to their house, I have never seen Kamara in this state before: she was wailing, she was questioning God, she was loosing breath. It was difficult for me too, but I saw the mother and I knew that she indeed lost a diamond.
I dragged Kamara to a corner, we cried together but I made her promise me that she will try her best to fill the vacuum her sister created in her mother's heart.
However, we went to console Kamara's Mommy but the moment she saw Kamara, she made a statement or asked a question that broke Kamara, I was gobsmacked. How can a mother say such words to a seventeen year old.
Brethren, Kamara's mom looked up and said "WHY NOT YOU, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU AND NOT HER".
That was the day I lost Kamara, that was the day I lost my best friend and that was the day Kamara's mother lost both daughters.
Kamara was broken, she left and never returned. I tried to reach her but she doesn't want to reach me.
