Training the trainer is just as important as training the audience. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a Communication Strategy Workshop organised by the National Universities Commission (NUC) through its Directorate of Special Projects. The workshop was designed specifically for Project Communications Officers across Nigerian universities, and it proved to be both timely and enriching because a communication strategy is the backbone of project success because even the best projects can fail if they are not clearly understood, properly communicated, or well received by the intended audience. Such workshops equip project teams with the skills to communicate goals, processes, and outcomes effectively, ensuring clarity, consistency, and visibility. They also help align stakeholders, build trust, encourage participation, and support informed decision-making. Ultimately, a strong communication strategy turns good ideas into impactful projects by making them seen, heard, and understood.

Beyond the sessions, the experience created a valuable space for communication officers to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. There is always strength in shared knowledge, and this gathering reinforced that truth. The facilitators also did an excellent job, equipping participants with practical tools and fresh insights needed to effectively advance and communicate their various projects.

Moments like this deserve to be preserved and shared, and platforms like Blogshop make that possible by allowing stories to be told both visually and creatively. Below are highlights of the workshop, captured and presented in pictorial form. I extend my sincere appreciation to the Coordinator of Special Projects at NUC, Dr. Joshua Atah, for his leadership, vision, and commitment in making the workshop a success, for me, this is one of the important workshops I attended in 2025 and the last one for the year.
