Seven mass transit buses were set ablaze in Potiskum, Yobe State at the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests. The buses were destroyed on the premises of the local government secretariat. Eyewitnesses reported that a group attempted to incite chaos but was quickly stopped by security personnel.

Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesman for the Yobe State Police Command, confirmed the incident and assured that those responsible will be held accountable. The protest  which is set to last until August 10, is driven by widespread discontent over economic hardship and government policies.

In response to the vandalism and looting, the state government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru. Dairy Abdulsalam, Special Adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Security Matters, urged residents to comply with the curfew to restore peace. Security agencies have been directed to enforce the curfew strictly to ensure public safety and order.
