A viral video of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at Northwest University, Kano, came with a wild caption claiming he had a carry-over and visited the university to clear an academic deficiency.

But Northwest University has said that’s completely false.

According to the university, the Emir was simply there for a public lecture organised by the International Humanitarian Law Society. His visit had nothing to do with any academic issue.

The university described the claim as “false, baseless and misleading” and warned people against spreading unverified information.

So, before you believe the next crazy university gist on social media, check the facts first. 😭
