Pride, a double-edged sword, that cuts both ways,
A virtue and a vice, in a delicate sway.
A sense of self-worth, that lifts us up high,
But also a trap, that can make us deny.

The pride that comes from achievement, is a noble thing,
A badge of honor, that makes our hearts sing.
But the pride that comes from ego, is a dangerous slope,
A slippery slide, that leads to a lonely rope.

For pride can blind us, to our own flaws and mistakes,
And make us deaf, to the wisdom that others partake.
It can make us stubborn, and unwilling to yield,
And lead us down a path, of isolation and steel.

But true pride, is a humble thing, that recognizes our place,
A sense of belonging, to a world beyond our face.
It's a pride that celebrates, the achievements of others too,
And lifts them up, with a heart that's true.

So let us strive, for a pride that's pure and bright,
A pride that shines, with a light that's full of light.
A pride that builds up, rather than tears down,
And brings us together, in a love that's renowned.
