Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has presented long-withheld academic certificates to 50 graduates of Crescent University, Abeokuta, nearly nine years after they completed their studies. The certificates were finally released at the Government House in Gusau after the Lawal administration settled the outstanding tuition fees owed by the previous government to the institution, which had refused to release results due to non-payment. Among the beneficiaries were several high-achieving students, including a first-class chemistry graduate, underscoring the administration’s renewed focus on education.
The intervention is part of broader efforts by Governor Lawal’s administration to address systemic challenges in Zamfara, including unmet obligations from earlier governments and the revitalisation of key sectors. In recent months, his government has also empowered local entrepreneurs with government grants and advanced long-term development planning to boost economic growth and social wellbeing across the state.
