Step-by-step: How To Check, Print 2026 UTME Result Slip - 14 hours ago

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, opening a crucial phase for candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.

For now, candidates can only confirm their scores via SMS, while the option to print the official UTME result slip on the JAMB portal will be activated later. The result slip is the key document required for post-UTME screening and other admission processes, as it carries the candidate’s passport photograph, subject-by-subject scores and biodata.

JAMB has also issued a stern warning to candidates against tampering with the official score messages sent from its designated lines. Altering or fabricating scores from the SMS platform, the board stressed, amounts to a criminal offence and could lead to prosecution, as well as disqualification from the admission process.

Below is a clear guide on how to check your UTME score now, and how to print your official result slip once the service goes live on the portal.

How to check your 2026 UTME score via SMS

First, ensure that the phone number you are using is the same one linked to your JAMB registration profile and that it has sufficient airtime.

Load at least N50 airtime on the registered phone number

Type UTMERESULT in a single word

Send the message to 55019

Wait for a response from JAMB containing your UTME score and related details

Candidates are advised to keep the SMS as a temporary record until the official result slip becomes available online.
