A plant is the most mysterious and most mystical being to ever exist on the planet. Humans always talked about the many wonders of the world and yet, refused or rather ignored the fact that a single plant is also a wonder. A wonder in science, art and even philosophy.

A plant first starts as a seed, a tiny atom, sometimes bigger than a grain of sand but easy to get lost in the dirt after being planted underground. Then, it just sits there, waiting and waiting. It waits for whoever or whatever planted it there to pour some water. Sometimes, there is a chance that no one pours anything at all but it is always out of sheer luck or a possible miracle that it rains. This is the most crucial stage of a plant's life as it determines whether it would ever survive and thrive or rot and die. But soon, one would realize that all are crucial stages.

Once it sprouts out of the ground, it is very small; just a tiny stem and two very small leaves, but it lives. At this stage, it is very hopeful and prayerful (though still young and might be careless) that no one steps on it, no tiny insects tear it apart for food and no hands pluck it out. Sometimes, nature can decide to play games with it; scornful heat, harsh cold breeze, stormy wind. Sometimes, the plant withstands them all. Sometimes, it doesn't.

After possible days or weeks of endurance, it grows taller and bigger. Its seed, however, determines what it will grow up to be. It could be a flower, a tree or a man/insect eating plant. If a flower, then it is expected to bloom and blossom with a great beauty and a sweet scent that catches the eyes and noses of whoever walks by its path. Everyone loves this plant.

If a man/insect-eating plant, it will trick and devour any man or insect it sees. No one likes that plant.

If a tree, its growth will take many years and has the longest endurance. But all that will be worth it because a tree is the biggest and strongest of all. Everyone admires this plant and loves to be one; big, strong and independent.

Plants have different species and in each species, they have the same characteristics; leaves, branches and roots. The leaves are like its feathers, its wings in the wind. The branches are what holds the leaves, the wings on the hard wood. The root is like a connection to the soil that covered/buried it when it was once a seed. The root is the strongest of all its features, as it keeps the plant from falling or blowing away.

Every stage of a plant's life is crucial and delicate. It starts out as being insignificant but its growth should inspire all. Its features are not studied enough but it has become a subject of interest here. We don't know the science behind its formation (one of Nature's creation, I suppose) or the philosophy that drives the plant to grow or the artist behind its creation (it could be nature or something else). It might not be a great wonder but it is a wonder to us. We aliens are very particular to things that most humans don't understand or rather ignore.
