Two people wey police suspect say dem be kidnappers don die for gun battle with Ondo State Police Command for Akure Owo Expressway.

The wahala happen for one area wey dem dey call Ilu Abo, for the road wey dey join Akure with Owo and other side for north Ondo. Police talk say na one emergency call about armed men wey dey disturb workers for one block industry near Ilu Abo High School make dem rush go there.

Police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, talk say officers from Federal Highway Patrol Unit for Ilu Abo rush go the place after dem hear say some masked gunmen enter Olaiya Block Industry around 3:30 early morning, dey find the owner of the place.

As the patrol team reach there, dem meet about seven armed men. The suspects begin shoot immediately, and na so serious gun battle start between dem and the police.

Jimoh talk say two of the gang members die for the shootout, while the remaining ones run enter bush, and police believe say some of dem get bullet wound. No police officer die or wound for the matter.

Things wey police collect for the scene include one locally made pistol, live cartridges, four phones, plenty face mask and two ATM cards. Investigators believe say the ATM cards fit belong to the suspects or people wey dem don kidnap or rob before for that area.

Police don carry the dead suspects go State Specialist Hospital for Akure. Dem don hand over the case to Anti Kidnapping Squad for State Criminal Investigation Department to continue investigation and to find the other gang members wey run.

Jimoh beg people for the area, especially health workers and private clinic owners, make dem call police quick if anybody come meet dem with gunshot wound or dey behave somehow wey no clear.

The command still talk say dem serious to fight kidnapping and other bad bad crime through better intelligence work and more patrol for main roads and village side. Dem beg people make dem continue to give police correct information on time, because na only when community and security people work together dem fit scatter all these criminal group for the state.
