A conversation ensued between me and a friend, regarding the alarming rate of divorce largely due to fade in love overtime between both married couples. In this cause, I stated my observation and made my comments which I think it's also important to also share here.

atimes I ask myself how love fade between couples to the point whereby it ultimately lead to divorce? and the observation was that the same things that made a couple fall in love often get neglected over time especially after their first two kids.

think of it this way; there  were lots of investments put in place by both parties  which could be in form of prioritizing quality time together, sharing romantic words, gifts personal hygiene and the extral mile they go in looking ravishing for each other. But after the mission is accomplished and marriage is  achieved, these things as crucial as they are are abandoed. it is forgotten that love isn't a static emotion; it's an action. If a couple stops investing in this connection, the way they used to, the bond naturally weakens, fail, and ultimately makes the marriage less lively.

I often wonder if couples, when love is still fresh after the wedding, make sacred agreements on things that should never be tampered with no matter the rifts that may arise in the future.

Like setting aside at least one night a week, just for the two of them, to curl up and watch a movie together, where work is never an excuse. Or a promise that no matter how upset they may be, A compulsory goodnight kiss and a morning one, too must always be shared with each other. And with every Sunrise, they pray for one another eyes locked, hearts connected.

These are not just trivial habits; they are a pre-emptive defense against the emotional distance that can creep into a marriage. The best time to prepare for war, is during peace time.
In my opinion, couples can create a steadfast foundation of intimacy that can help them weather any storm. Do you think there are more to this? feel free to share your opinion.
