The lonely observer (part 4)
"Okay, Father."
"Once we get in, just kneel and speak to God as you spoke to me. He is ready to hear you."
As they stepped into the empty church, illuminated only by lights from the sanctuary, Father Mike urged Ebuka to kneel at the front pew while he remained a few pews away.
A long time passed, and night was fast approaching when he heard silent sobs. He never guessed they would have come from
Ebuka as he looked around to find the source.
Just before the church bells tolled seven times,
Ebuka walked up to him, teary-eyed. His eyes were now lit up, and his face had an eerie feeling of peace stretched all over.
"How was it?" Father Mike asked gently.
"Father, He heard me speak. And I felt everything taken off my back. For the first time in a very long while, I've felt peace within..."
Walking back to the church gate, they talked briefly.
After reassuring Father Mike that he would visit often, Ebuka smiled for the very first time that Sunday evening. Watching him walk away, Father Mike was left convinced once again that miracles still happened in God's presence.
Some find healing, others find restoration, some find breakthrough, others find comfort, but Ebuka found PEACE.
