Being in charge of welfare during our production was no small task. It wasn’t just about providing food — it was about making sure the cast and crew were cared for, energized, and motivated.
On the very first day, with limited resources and time, we had a humble meal: garri. Some people took it gladly — laughing, sipping it with groundnuts or sugar. Others, well… let’s just say they politely declined. But it was all part of the experience. That day, despite the simple refreshment, spirits were high and the work continued.
By the second day, things took a turn for the better. With improved planning and a stronger budget, I ensured we had cooked rice for everyone. The excitement was clear. People lined up happily, chatting and smiling with disposable pack of food in their hands hand. It wasn’t just about the food — it was the comfort of knowing that someone was looking out for them.
That was the heart of welfare — being there for the team, not just with meals, but with attention, care, and support.
In the end, it wasn’t about how fancy the food was, but the effort to make everyone feel valued. From garri to rice, I did my best — and I’d do it again
