MARCH, 29, PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE - 9 months ago

On March 29, 2025, the Moon will pass in front of and partially block the Sun, a phenomenon that people in parts of the United States, Canada, northern Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, Russia and Africa, as well as much of the Atlantic and Arctic oceans, will get to experience as a partial solar eclipse. The central part of the Moon’s shadow, where the Sun would appear completely blocked, misses Earth, so no one will be able to see a total solar eclipse this time.

During the eclipse, the moon will appear to take a bite out of the sun, but how much varies by location. And clouds can spoil the view. Everyone watching the eclipse must use proper eye protection or an indirect viewing method to protect their eyes. The surface of the sun will never be fully obscured during this event, so it is never safe to look at the partial solar eclipse without protective eye gear.
