STERLING ESTATE – MAIN MANSION
“Here comes the most trusted guard in the entire Sterling Estate,” Margaret announced with contempt, wearing a fake smile, when Conner walked into the mansion. She was sitting in the garden when she sighted him. Being a troublesome woman as she was, she couldn’t resist the urge to go and trouble him.
Conner stopped when she got to him but he didn’t say a word to her. After working for the Sterling family for thirty years, he knew how to address each member of the family in a way that was faultless. Margaret, was one of the people he knew how best to put in their place.
She got to him and looked at him from top to bottom, still wearing her fake smile.
“It’s been a while Conner, I hardly see you around these days, how are you?” she asked, with her hands still on his arms,
“Well, how do I look?” Conner asked her tactfully.
“You look okay,” she said with a little frown and Conner nodded his head, trying walk pass her to continue his journey.
“You seem to be in a hurry,” she said stopping him again.
“I’m glad it is obvious and you can see it,” Conner stated firmly but she chuckled and threw her hand in the air as if blowing away what he said.
