Protest in Abuja, Kano, and Gombe: #EndBadGovernance
The #EndBadGovernance protests organized across Nigeria turned violent yesterday in major cities such as Kano, Gombe, and Abuja.
In some instances, the violence was caused by the actions of security officials, while in others, it was due to the actions of some overzealous protesters.
One of the protesters, Emmanuel, said, "We don't have money to buy food or do anything for ourselves. We are giving the government 10 days; if not, we will remain on the streets."
In contrast, the situation in Nsukka was very different. I was curious about what the protest in Nsukka would be like as I stepped out after doing some house chores. To my surprise, the place was quiet, with no movement or cars. No shops were open, so I had to go back home without getting anything to eat. It wasn't until evening that shops started opening.Let's stay safe, everyone.
