“Well, I think you should know that my boss and I share a good relationship. But I’ll think about where to place you.” I answered him and he smiled.

“Okay then. At least let me walk you back to the mansion.” He suggested, walking up to me.

“I am a bodyguard, I can take care of myself.” I declined.

“You may be a bodyguard to Theo, but you are a lady to me, a very beautiful lady…” he said and his voice sounded chilly though husky, as he spoke that it sent shivers down my spine.

I didn’t object again, it was a hard realization that he was making me speechless. Trying to make me aware of my femininity was very strange and difficult for me to handle. I allowed him to walk me back to the mansion. The walk was quiet. I was sure it was not because he didn’t have any more compliments to shower me with, but because he saw my discomfort.

We got to the entrance and I met Theo there. I turned to Barth who was wearing a smile on his face. I suspected that the smile was for Theo so I waited till the smile faded before I spoke to him.

“Thank you for walking me back home.” I said trying to sound casual.

“Don’t mention,” he said and I smiled before turning to Theo who looked like he had a lot of questions. I tried to ignore him but I couldn’t since he kept staring.
