This year’s NECO results have stirred fresh hope and quiet tension among thousands of students. For the BECE, which ran from May 12 to May 23, 2025, NECO confirmed the release of results on July 9 after final checks in Minna. Over 179,000 candidates sat for twelve subjects, and for those who stumbled in English or Mathematics, a second chance is set for July 23 and 24.
But it’s the senior school candidates who are waiting with heavier hearts. The SSCE internal exams, which stretched from mid‑June to late July, wrapped up around July 25, 2025. By NECO’s past timelines, students often see their fate about two or three months later. This means everyone is quietly marking calendars for September or October, though no official word has landed yet.
Across classrooms and group chats, rumours about exact dates bounce back and forth, but what stays the same is the mix of relief and fear that settles in after every exam season. And so, thousands hold their breath, waiting for those few numbers on a screen to show what the months of reading, prayers and late nights were worth.
