Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on governments and stakeholders to sustain investment in quality education, stressing that the future of the nation depends on how well today’s children are prepared for a rapidly changing world. She made the appeal while highlighting the growing influence of technology and innovation in shaping global economies, noting that education must evolve to keep pace.
According to her, access to quality education goes beyond building schools or enrolling students; it involves equipping learners with relevant skills, critical thinking abilities, and digital competence. She emphasized that young Nigerians must be prepared not only to compete globally but also to contribute meaningfully to national development, especially in science, technology, and creative industries.
The First Lady also urged policymakers, private sector players, and development partners to work collaboratively to strengthen the education system. She maintained that sustained funding, teacher training, and modern learning tools are essential to unlocking the potential of Nigerian youth, adding that consistent investment in education remains one of the most reliable pathways to long-term economic growth and social stability.
