🎯 THE LORD’S PRAYER
THE POWER AND THE GLORY

“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

In a complex world where the quest for power and glory drives many people, Jesus declared that all the power and the glory must be ascribed to God. A. B. Simpson reminds us that, “Our God has boundless resources because He is an eternal King over a heavenly Kingdom that reaches and affects the earth. The only limit is in us. Our asking, our thinking, our praying are often too small for Him who owns the Kingdoms of the world, the power and the glory. Our expectations are too limited.” This is often the case because we have no full comprehension of His power and His glory!

👉🏽 THINE IS THE POWER
Psalm 62:11 “God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs to God.”

History has no record of anyone who displayed absolute power in life. The ‘most powerful’ are usually judged by their excellence in specific areas of life. Even then, they - like all humans, have their limitations. God is the only unlimited one in power. He appeared to Moses in the burning bush, showing His power over water, air, land and fire at the same time. Therefore, we shall not fear. Woodrow Kroll says, “With the power of God within us, we need never fear the powers around us.” Because we know and we can say that no matter what God allows us to go through, all power belongs to Him.

👉🏽 THINE IS THE GLORY
Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God.”

God’s glory is the essence of His being that manifests with His presence. Isaiah 40:5 reminds us that all flesh is like grass and all their glories like the flowers of the field. No matter how much God’s purposes appear to be out of alignment with our expectations, ultimately His wisdom shall be seen and the glory shall be to Him. We shall appear in eternity clothed in His glory. We shall not fade nor faint in His presence, because His glory shall be our covering. Be strong and know that no matter what we go through on earth, the power and the glory are God’s, now and always.

PRAYER 🙏🏽 
As I join the hosts of heaven to declare His power and glory, I say,  “Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto my God for ever and ever. Amen.” (Prayer from Revelation 7:12)
