Episode 7

Mr Chigozie walked to the parlor, and getting there, his friend laughed loudly, welcome my friend, he said, and they shake hands, they were so excited, like...they both laughed loudly, and when everybody had settled down, this was their conversation:

Mr Chidindu: I'm so excited today, today is a joyful day, today is the day that we have come to do the traditional rites for my son's future wife, the beautiful, well cultured, and well mannered Amanda.

Mr Chidindu: (to Nnanna): Nnanna, bring the keg of palm wine.

(And Nnanna brought it forward)

Nnanna: here is it, Papa.

Mr Chidindu: (to his friend): i maara ka ha na-emekari ya, meaning: you know how they usually do it. My friend, this is our wine, to declare that we are seriously ready to have Amanda, as our wife.

Mr Chigozie: (laughs loudly) the gods be praised, Chukwu Okike Abiama daalu, meaning: Supreme God of all, and all knowing God, thank you. My friend, today is indeed a joyful day (and he accepted the wine). So, we've accepted your proposal, we'll only wait for the right time, for us to let Amanda in, on everything.

Mr Chidindu: alright, my friend, we will take our leave now, greet the rest of the family for us.

Mr Chigozie: okay, they'll hear.

(All these while, Amanda was at the other side of the door, eavesdropping.)
