ABU-RISE Initiative Trains Students on Career Building and Job Creation

As part of the ABU-RISE Initiative's mission, the Ahmadu Bello University Counseling and Human Development Center, through its Career Service Unit, is training students on career development and job creation.
The workshop, themed "Linkages and Job Creation for Students," is currently underway at the Postgraduate College Auditorium, Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru Main Campus.
The event has attracted several distinguished personalities, including the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Raymond Bako; the Dean, Students Affairs Division, Professor Sahalu Junaidu; the Director, Counseling and Human Development Center, Professor Hadiza Ahmed Tukur; and students, among other participants.



The ongoing workshop is being enriched with goodwill messages and remarks from top university officials, highlighting the institution's commitment to preparing students for the evolving job market.
Dr. Sa'adatu Makarfi, the first facilitator, delivered a presentation titled "Career Readiness and Employability Skills." During the session, she trained students on essential employability competencies, including effective CV writing, job interview techniques, and communication skills, among others.

Following her presentation, Dr. Y. F. Zakariyya is currently presenting a paper titled "Emerging Technology and Career Pathways: Equipping ABU Students for the Jobs of Tomorrow." He has encouraged students to embrace emerging technologies and leverage the opportunities they create.
"Those of you who use Artificial Intelligence will replace those who do not use Artificial Intelligence," he emphasized.
After the third presentation by Dr. Bugaji titled "Innovation, Entrepreneurship and lifelong Learning", the workshop is expected to conclude with interactive sessions, a vote of thanks, and closing remarks.
