Many people struggle with low self-worth without even knowing, I personally was once one of them .
I didn't realise it was the small habits and thoughts I set aside that really drained me mentally .
The way I spoke to my self ,compared myself to others and avoided certain opportunities slowly reduced how I saw my self.
This article highlights common things people do that quietly lowers self-worth , often without being fully aware and how awareness would help change that .
*Are you treating yourself with the same respect you give others* ?
I didn't always notice how the way I treated myself gradually affected my self-worth, I was often patient with others, but when it came to myself I was always more critical.

Overtime, this made me question if I was giving myself the same attention i gave to people around me. I didn't realise I was reducing  my self-worth.
*I downplayed my little  achievements*
Even when I tried or made progress, I told myself it was not enough. Overtime, ignoring these little wins made it harder for me to appreciate my own little efforts .
*I compared myself constantly
I would compare my life and forget how far I had come ,which made me always doubt what I could do.
*I lost opportunities because I felt someone could do better*
I stepped back from opportunities thinking others were more capable.
*what was the cause of all this ?*
The cause was not lack of ability, but  lack of self-worth. Constant comparison, negative selftalk and fear of failure slowly shaped how i saw my self, without realising it.
This habits became normal and affected my confidence and decisions in my daily life activities.
*How did I overcome and change this?*
I looked deep into my life ,I sat down and spoke to my self ,although with the help of God who open my eyes.

What did I do ?
I built habits that boosted my confidence, such as

. I learnt that everyone is unique .
. I valued my self .
. I listened more and talked less.
.I Applied more knowledge where necessary .
.I stopped trying to receive validation from others.
*I shifted my environment*
I disengaged my self from people that belittled me .
.I also removed my self from toxic people.
.I set healthy boundaries.
Looking back I realised I didn't lose my confidence overnight, I slowly gave it away by doubting myself ,downplaying my wins and believing others could do better .so I chose to take it back .
So ask yourself this, when was the last time you chose yourself without guilt ? Your confidence is waiting for that answer.
