Yeah yeah some of you know this as a famous mantra by the fictional character, Loki, the god of mischief portrayed by Tom Hiddleston in the MCU. That’s where I heard it first but it didn’t really make sense then. 

I had an epiphany one day. Slept, woke up and it dawned on me that I was living below average after an overall assessment of my circumstances. I was afraid of venturing out. I was in every sense of the word, very mediocre. Just living day to day with no vision. So scared of my potentials, (trust me, I discovered plenty). I was basically living with buried talents. 

When I took up that name; Malcolm. I said to myself, Burdened with Glorious Purpose. I kept saying and then and there I felt something and so it became mine, my mantra too. 

I made a list of what I feared the most and the task was doing them and ticking them off going forward. I began to see what I feared sef was all in my mind. I began to test unknown waters and venture into uncharted lands figuratively. That was the best decision I ever made, letting go of fear. I had my gaze set on being extraordinary, mediocrity cannot be me.

I’m always online. Everyday it’s the first thing I post on my Whatsapp status as a reminder of what lies ahead. Anytime I get distracted, soon as I see it, it reminds me of the “Glorious Purpose” ahead. I feel this rush of strength and I get back on track with the vision.

BURDENED WITH GLORIOUS PURPOSE, it doesn’t end. I saw a glimpse of it and truly, it is a glorious one (What I had in mind? It’s a thousand times more). I’ll stay burdened until my watch is ended.  BURDENED WITH GLORIOUS PURPOSE and by God it will be accomplished.
