President Joe Biden Lounges On Beach Away From The Spotlight! - 1 month ago

President Joe Biden is enjoying some beach time near his Rehoboth Beach vacation home, relaxing by the waves with his family while Vice President Kamala Harris takes on the campaign responsibilities. Biden made his way to his Delaware beach residence on Thursday night, following an emotional visit to his Wilmington campaign headquarters where he symbolically 'passed the torch' to Harris. Harris, who attracted a crowd of 10,000 at an Arizona rally and has been gaining momentum in swing state polls, is shouldering the campaign efforts.

Biden, aged 81, appeared content with his current situation, acknowledging reporters from afar as he walked to the beach on a pleasant 79-degree day now that the remnants of Hurricane Betty have passed. Beach visitors, familiar with Biden's occasional visits, mostly gave him space as he sat with his wife Jill and granddaughter Naomi. The Secret Service had cleared out a sizable area for their privacy, with two agents in black scanning the crowd through binoculars from a sand dune above.

As he headed there, Biden ignored a question about the race and Gaza, opting to focus on relaxing instead. He interacted with kids and received applause upon arrival. At his beach spot, he reclined in his chair, then sat up to enjoy a drink and chat with Jill and Naomi. Jill had a book ready, "All the Colors of the Dark" by Chris Whitaker, recommended by Jenna Bush Hager. The novel, set in 1975, follows a wealthy family's daughter in a small Missouri town amid mysterious disappearances. Reporters were held back, but photographers captured moments.

Biden's arrival at the beach coincided with a grim statement from the White House National Security Council, following an attack by Israeli Defense Forces on a school compound in Gaza.
