HOW LIFE CHANGES - 2 months ago

As humans, when we begin to grow, we find ourselves putting away old habits and picking up new ones.Hobbies, likes, dislikes, perceptions and a lot of other things about us change.

For me, while growing up, it was cliche for girls to like pink so I pretended not to like it. I didn’t even get the concept of having a favourite colour at the time so whenever anyone asked me, I’d say Blue.
Another thing which never made sense to me was having a ‘Role Model’. There was nobody I had heard of or seen whose life struck me so much that would make me want to model myself after; even my Parents. Of course there were a few things I admired in some grown ups. For a long time, I felt this was a problem till I realised it wasn’t.

Now that I’m much older, I no longer say that  I do not like Pink. Infact I’ve made a conscious effort to surround myself with pink things. And when someone says, “You like pink too”, I’ll respond with an enthusiastic “Yes, I like pink too!’’.

That’s what I consider growth. The fact that we can keep changing, adjusting and becoming refined versions of our old selves. Change is  something that should be embraced, not something we should run away from.

We must accept that as humans, our life will keep changing and this is not something we should be scared of. It is said that the only thing constant in life is Change; I couldn’t agree less!
