Dearest gentle reader,
It has been a while.A very long while, actually.Long enough for you to wonder whether I had finally abandoned this little corner of the internet.But I assure you, dear reader, I had not.I was simply… busy living through enough material to fill several chapters.
And if you are one of the few who understood that opening, I see you. 😂❤️But enough of my little diversion; there is a story to tell.
When last we met, I was preparing for my first-semester examinations. There were notes to read, tests to survive, assignments to complete and, naturally, the small matter of wondering whether I would actually survive university.Well…I survived.But perhaps I spoke too soon.Because what followed was a series of events I certainly did not have on my semester's itinerary.First, my phone was stolen.A rather unfortunate development, I must say.Recovering from that was an adventure of its own, and there was the small matter of trying to put myself back together while school continued marching forward, completely uninterested in whether I was ready or not.Thankfully, I had some really good friends around me. I have to say, I absolutely love the friends I have. ❤️ They helped me so much during that period, and their support made an otherwise difficult situation a little easier to navigate.Then, I lost my grandpa.And so, you may now understand why my absence was rather longer than expected.Still, the semester continued.There were examinations, assignments, unexpected turns, little victories, minor disasters and all the other ingredients that make university life such an interesting little affair.Then came the results.Well…Some of them.Because apparently, giving us all our results at once would be far too generous.From what I have seen so far, however, I am on a 4 and above. ❤️I am still waiting for the remaining results, so I shall be keeping my celebrations rather modest for now. One must never get ahead of the story.But I am hopeful.And, if I have anything to say about it, I hope to do even better this semester.
Now, I am quite certain some of you have been expecting another exam diary.And I know you.But I might not be doing that this time around.Instead, I think I would rather tell you the story of how the examinations go. The strange questions, the last-minute studying, the moments of confidence, the moments of “what exactly am I looking at?”, and whatever other drama decides to make an appearance.Because really, what is university without a little drama?And just when I thought I would finally get a moment to breathe after first semester…Scratch that.I have already started my second-semester examinations.Yes.While I am still waiting for some of my first-semester results, I am already writing second-semester exams.Quite the transition, wouldn't you say?There was no intermission.No graceful pause between chapters.The university simply turned the page and said, “Next.”And so, here I am again.Another semester. Another round of examinations. Another opportunity to do better.Hopefully, this chapter brings better results, better experiences and perhaps a little less chaos.Although, knowing university, that may be a rather ambitious request. 😂So, pull out a chair, dear reader, because I am back.And I hope to stay a little more present this time.There are stories to tell, exams to survive, results to await and, hopefully, plenty of good news to share.Until my next entry…Just a girl trying to make sense of life in UNILAG — Ola ❤️
